Boeing projects that the Asia-Pacific region will need 216,000 new pilots in the next 20 years, the most of any part of the world, accounting for 40 percent of the global demand.
1.Change in Lifestyle of People :
The rapid growth of Asian countries is helping in boosting the economies of the countries. The lifestyle of people are changing . Their purchase capacity is increasing drastically which is helping many airlines across Asian region. People are preferring to fly over travelling by trains or by road. Flying by air is becoming a necessity over luxury.Due to changing of lifestyle airlines have ordered huge number of aircraft.
2.Lack of Training Infrastructure :
The low cost travel has surged the demand of aircraft and more airlines. The airlines are increasing their capacity at much higher pace than expected. It takes around 3 years for a person to become first officer if everything goes as per the perfect schedule. All the countries and airlines are lacking facilities for training of their pilots.
Japan’s Peach Aviation, which is partly owned by ANA Holdings, the parent of All Nippon Airways, said this spring it would cut up to 2,100 flights — about one-sixth of its planned schedule — that it expected to operate between April and October due to a pilot shortage

For many people, flying is the only option. Indonesia is a sprawling archipelago of more than 250 million people. To get from one island to another, the easiest way is by air. American Airlines Group Inc.’s pilots union accepted a sweetened tentative agreement that would provide an immediate 23 percent pay increase to pilots, followed by additional raises in each year of the contract.
