India’s newest carrier,Vistara is expanding wings rapidly. It started flying on 9th Jan 2015. The first flight of Vistara took off from Delhi for Mumbai. It has connected Ahmedabad from Mumbai just after that.
Vistara is a full service provider and is in direct competition with Jet Airways and Indian Airlines. Vistara’s Tag line is “Fly the New Feeling”.
Mr JRD TATA was the first licenses CPL holder of India. Aviation is in the blood of TATAs. Earlier this year, they already started a venture with AIR ASIA. There are thousand of unemployed fresher skilled aviation people in India. Most of them are pilots. Its everyone’s dream to fly with Vistara.
Vistara has introduced three types of classes first time in India on its Airbus A320 fleet. Response of customers on the first day was mixed. “The premium economy gives me more leg room. But being a frequent flyer with Jet Airways, I can get an emergency-door seat by checking in 48 hours prior to the flight and get the same amount of leg room,” said Sanjay Jobanputra, who paid Rs 14,500 to buy a last minute ticket from Mumbai to Delhi on the premium economy class.
BOC Aviation will be delivering 13 planes to Vistara Airlines by March 2016. Vistara is waiting for revised aviation policy which is expected to come in February. As per specaulation , the 5/20 rule will go away very soon which will give a big relief to all the airlines as than they can start flying directly to International routes immediately even with the first aircraft on day one.
