Taking command of an aircraft, large or small, requires you to make decisions and take responsibility for the outcome of those decisions. Your instructor will be there to support you every step of the way of course. But as soon as you master one element you will be introduced to something new. 

The Flight Instructors job is to help you get to the next level, overcome obstacles and become more knowledgeable and confident in the decisions you make. It is a fun and challenging process that will enable you to learn a lot about your own strengths and weaknesses. Along the way, you will become a better decision maker, more confident and even more self-aware.

Your first solo flight

Of course, own first solo flight is an amazing experience that one will never forget. It is a rush of adrenaline and endorphins as it started up the Piper Cherokee (PA28) and started preparing for one’s first flight all by oneself. And the feeling one will have when the wheels left the ground is impossible to describe with words.

Seeing the same joy and excitement in the eyes of a student going for his or her first solo flight takes one back to that moment. It is one of the most rewarding experiences for both student and instructor. An experience that stands unrivaled to this day.

Career or Hobby – The “office view” is unbeatable

It doesn’t matter if your aim is to become a professional pilot or if you simply want to fly for fun. Nothing beats climbing through the cloud layer on a gray winter morning. Being reminded that above the clouds the sun is always shining. It has been claimed (although not scientifically proven) that pilots are in general happier during periods of bad weather since they get to see the sun every day regardless.

It’s challenging and rewarding

Let’s face it, becoming a pilot is not as complicated as becoming an astronaut. But it’s not the easiest task you will be faced with either! The great thing about challenges, however, is that when you overcome obstacles. Gain new skills and knowledge, it comes with an incredible sense of achievement and a boost of confidence. 

You get to show your friends a family a whole new world

Just like going underneath the water surface with your scuba diving gear, being airborne and in control opens up a whole new world that you haven’t experienced before. And the best part? You can bring your friends and family with you!
