Nepal Plane Crash: 5 Indians Onboard Yeti Airline Flight Killed, Here Are Their Names
A 72-seater passenger aircraft crashed on the runway at Pokhara International Airport in Nepal on Monday, leaving at least 42 people dead and many more injured. Rescue operations are also underway, and the airport is closed for the time being.
According to reports, around 10 out of the 68 passengers on the flight were foreign nationals. Five of them were Indians. The deceased Indians have been identified as Abhishek Kushwaha, Bishal Sharma, Anil Kumar Rajbhar, Sonu Jaiswal, and Sanjaya Jaiswal. Also, the families of the deceased are informed and provided with necessary assistance.
The flight was operated by Yeti Airline, a Nepali private air carrier. It was headed from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The aircraft was a Dornier 228 operated by Yeti Airlines. It was carrying 67 passengers and three crew members.
Pictures and videos also posted on social media platforms showed smoke billowing from the crash site. Rescue operations are underway, and the airport has been closed for the time being. The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined.
The Indian Embassy in Nepal is closely monitoring the situation and has expressed its condolences to the families of the deceased. The Government of India is also ready to provide any assistance that may be required. However, this tragedy is a reminder of the importance of safety and security in air travel.
