Delhi Airport Passengers Still Suffering from Long Security Check Queues

Travelers using Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi have been experiencing prolonged waiting times at both immigration and security checkpoints, causing them great inconvenience. The queues have become a significant source of frustration for those traveling to and from the airport.

According to ANI, several passengers resorted to social media to voice their grievances about the inconvenience they encountered at the airport on Wednesday. Last December, Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Civil Aviation Minister, visited Terminal 3 of the Delhi IGI airport unexpectedly in response to complaints of congestion and overcrowding. During the visit, he met with relevant stakeholders to find solutions to the issue.

Passengers traveling through Delhi airport expressed their dissatisfaction with the extended wait times at immigration and security checkpoints, which reportedly lasted for three hours. Many frequent travelers have labeled this issue as a persistent problem. According to Mohit, a passenger, this problem seems to be never-ending, and he has lost faith in the ability of politicians to address it effectively. Until politicians prioritize finding solutions rather than chasing media attention, it is unlikely that any tangible improvements will be made.

Manas, a fellow passenger, expressed his dissatisfaction with the airport, describing it as the worst he had ever encountered. He expressed doubt as to who had bestowed upon it the title of the best airport and criticized the staff’s apathetic attitude. In contrast, he felt that Bangalore airport was superior in comparison. Additionally, other passengers also expressed their discontent, particularly regarding the long queue to access the lounge.

According to a tweet by Samkit Jain, a passenger, the queue for the Delhi Airport T3 Lounge is longer than the queue for security check-in. To avoid any inconvenience, airlines have advised passengers to arrive 3.5 hours before departure during the December-January period.
