Air India aims to strengthen partnerships with airports

Air India is seeking to improve its systems by forging stronger collaborations with airports in India and abroad. To achieve this goal, the Tata Group-owned airline has developed a five-year roadmap for transformation under Vihaan.AI.

Rajesh Dogra, the Chief Customer Experience Officer, and Global Operations – Airport Operations have stated that AirIndia is not utilizing the best available aviation technologies in the market. Therefore, the airline is working closely with airport operators worldwide, including those in India, JFK (New York), SFO (San Francisco), and LHR (the UK), seeking their assistance and collaboration.

He also cited DigiYatra as an excellent example of how data sharing can be achieved. And stating that sharing data among stakeholders is essential for the success of the aviation industry.

In January 2022, Tata Group took control of AirIndia, which had been incurring losses, along with Air India Express and a 50% stake in AIATSL.

The order comprises 250 aircraft from Airbus and 220 from Boeing. Moreover, the airline has the option to buy an additional 370 aircraft from both plane manufacturers.
