Book helicopter services to Kedarnath Dham through the IRCTC website

Online booking for helicopter services to the Kedarnath temple will soon be available through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website. Shortly after, the IRCTC will start the booking process once the temple opens on April 25th. TOI’s news report suggests that they will complete a trial run of helicopter services by March 31st, and the online booking will be available from April 1st.

In February, the DGCA issued circular outlining guidelines for helicopter operators and Shrine Boards or District Administration to ensure safe and smooth helicopter operations for the 2023 pilgrimage. Recently, the IRCTC signed an MoU with the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) for a five-year period to provide helicopter ticket booking services for pilgrims visiting Shri Kedarnath Dham.

MoU signed between the Director General of Medical Health and Family Welfare

On Saturday, an MoU was signed between the Director General of Medical Health and Family Welfare, the Director of Corporate Affairs and CSR of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to deploy 50 health ATMs during the Chardham Yatra. The health ATMs will provide medical services to devotees in identified medical units of the Garhwal division. Chief Minister Dhami stated that the Health ATM would provide health screening during Chardham Yatra and offer convenience to the devotees. The deployment of health ATMs is a good step towards strengthening medical facilities on the Char Dham Yatra route.

The Health ATMs offer a range of automated health check-ups, including weight, height, blood pressure, blood sugar, body temperature, and oxygen saturation levels. In addition to these features, patients can also have live video consultations with doctors, receive instant health reports and prescriptions, and have their medicines delivered immediately.

The Chief Minister, CM Dhami, has instructed officials to complete travel arrangements by April 15th. As well as improving the roads along the Yatra route, the Chief Minister has also directed officials to develop an effective action plan to ensure passenger convenience.

CM Dhami has also allayed concerns about the safety of the Char Dham yatra in light of the subsidence in Joshimath. In a statement to reporters, he also assured the public that the pilgrimage will be conducted safely and emphasized that there should be no doubts in the minds of people about Joshimath, which serves as the gateway to Badrinath.
