IndiGo to Commence First International Flight from Bhubaneswar to Dubai on May 15
According to officials, IndiGo is set to launch its first international flight from Bhubaneswar airport with direct service to Dubai from May 15. On the occasion of Utkal Dibasa, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated ticket sales for the flight, which will operate thrice a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The maiden ticket price is Rs 10,000 per sector, said an official.
Patnaik also emphasized the importance of connectivity for development, and the direct link with Dubai, one of the world’s largest aviation hubs, will create a direct gateway to the world. He added that this flight service will have a significant multiplier effect on investment in Odisha’s IT, manufacturing, and tourism sectors.

IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales, Vinay Malhotra, stated that the airline has been striving to improve international connectivity at affordable fares. Patnaik handed the first eight tickets to women from “Mission Shakti,” sportspersons, tribal leaders, “Skilled in Odisha” students, and artists.
An official has announced that the airline will soon launch flights to Singapore and Bangkok. Patnaik expressed his gratitude to Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia for facilitating the services and announced that a large delegation from the state would be on the first flight to Dubai.
IndiGo will also operate flights from Bhubaneswar to Dubai on an Airbus A321neo aircraft, which will feature a spacious and comfortable cabin with a range of amenities, including comfortable seats, free Wi-Fi, and a variety of onboard entertainment options.
Commenting on the new service, Mr. Vishal Kumar Dev, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Odisha Tourism Department, also said that the launch of the international flight from Bhubaneswar is a significant development for the state. He added that it will boost tourism, trade, and commerce, and make it more accessible for people from around the world to visit Odisha.
Furthermore, the people of the city received the news of the first international flight from Bhubaneswar with much excitement, as they have been waiting for such a service for a long time. The new service expects to make travel to Dubai and other international destinations more accessible and convenient, benefiting both business and leisure travelers.
