AI Flight Lands at Delhi Airport with Cracked Windshield Sparking Full Emergency

A full emergency was declared at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday, April 18, for an AI flight bound for Delhi from Pune. The flight, AI858, had 180 passengers on board.

According to sources, the emergency was declared due to a glitch in the aircraft. This led to a minor crack on the right (starboard side) of the aircraft’s windshield. The airline, in a statement, confirmed that the flight landed ahead of its scheduled time following the discovery of the crack.

Thankfully, all passengers and flight crew were safe, and no injuries were reported. The airline has assured us that the necessary maintenance procedure will be carried out, and the windshield will be replaced.
