The World Famous controversial Airline, Vietjet ,popularly known as the “bikini airline”,which has Sexy Airhostess will start its operation to India from December this year. The airline, which hogged limelight in 2011 with an ad featuring a crew in bikinis, will start flights between New Delhi and Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City from December 6.

The airline is also offering “super-saving tickets” priced at Rs 9 onwards, during its “three golden days – a special promotion” by the airline from August 20 to 22.

Starting December 6, the New Delhi-Ho Chi Minh City route will operate four return flights per week, while the Hanoi-New Delhi route will operate three return flights per week starting December 7. The Ho Chi Minh route will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The Hanoi flights will be on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

As per a report by the industry consultancy Capa, Hanoi-Delhi was the third largest Vietnam-India city pair, accounting for 12 percent of Vietnam-India bookings in 2018.

Significantly, Indigo has already announced flights to Ho Chi Minh City from Kolkata from October 3.

Currently, Vietjet operates around 400 flights daily, carrying more than 80 million passengers to date, with 129 routes covering destinations across Vietnam and international destinations.

The airline, which flies from Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City and serves 23 domestic and 10 international destinations, is calling its VietJet Bikini Calendar a “hot item for all aviation fans and travellers”.

It also appeared to suggest that this wasn’t only about sex.

“The hot and sexy models have always been the favourite of many VietJet passengers,” said a media representative for the airline.

“Not only displaying their gorgeous looks, the models posed in different cabin crew and staff roles to showcase the airline’s high-quality service and friendly staff.”

Sexual harassment during flights may be a blind spot for airlines, particularly in Asia.

So is this stunt really about promoting good customer service?

The calendar includes images of scantily clad women posing as pilots, air traffic controllers, technicians, maintenance staff and flight attendants.
