Air India Express to Commence Haj Flights from Kannur and Kozhikode on June 4
Air India Express, a subsidiary of Air India, has announced the commencement of Haj flights from Kannur and Kozhikode airports in Kerala, India. On June 4, Air India Express will begin operating special charter flights from Kannur and Kozhikode airports in Kerala, India. The airline also decided to introduce these services after successfully securing the government-released bid for the two cities in Kerala.
To facilitate the transportation of Haj pilgrims, Air India Express will conduct the Haj charters in two phases. During the first phase, the airline plans to operate 44 flights from Kozhikode and 13 flights from Kannur, all destined for Jeddah. Approximately 8,236 pilgrims are expected to be catered to by this initiative.

In the second phase, Air India Express will organize 44 return flights from Medina to Kozhikode and 13 return flights from Medina to Kannur. These flights will facilitate the return journey of the pilgrims from their religious pilgrimage to the holy cities.
To enhance the travel experience for elderly pilgrims, the airline has introduced color-coded pouches to carry their boarding passes. Additionally, brightly colored luggage tags have been provided to ensure easy identification and prevent baggage mishandling.
Air India Express has also made arrangements to transport Zam Zam water on the return ferry flights and store it at the Kozhikode and Kannur airports. Upon arrival, the airline also will present each individual with a 5-liter can of Zam Zam water, which holds great significance for pilgrims.
This is a significant milestone for the airline as it marks the first time the airline has undertaken the responsibility of operating Haj services from Kannur and Kozhikode. The commencement of these flights demonstrates the airline’s commitment to providing efficient and convenient travel options for Haj pilgrims.
Furthermore, with the introduction of these specialized Haj flights, Air India Express aims to facilitate a seamless journey for pilgrims, ensuring their travel requirements are met with utmost care and attention. The Airline is directing its dedicated efforts toward creating a comfortable and memorable experience for the pilgrims during their spiritual journey to the holy cities.
