Air India is the only scheduled airline to offer direct services to UK’s second-largest airport. To Heathrow, Air India will add 5 additional weekly frequencies with Delhi increasing from 14 to 17 times a week and Mumbai from 12 to 14 times a week.

Air India’s Chairman and Managing Director Rajiv Bansal said, “Our focus is to expand our network and fly to more destinations adding more frequencies to existing ones. The introduction of these two new routes to London is in line with our strategy. It will benefit Indian travellers who will now have more options and convenient flight timings to choose from.”

The robust enhancement of operations is one of the major pillars of Vihaan.AI, Air India’s transformational roadmap. The roadmap is based on the strategic objectives of developing strong networks and partnerships, achieving operational excellence and cost optimization.

The passenger can now avail of Air India’s services to reach London and other select European cities at competitive fares. Passengers can enjoy services such as inflight entertainment, meals, and more.

Air India’s move to launch more flights to London Gatwick and Heathrow Airport is a welcome move as it will provide more options and convenience for Indian travellers. This will also help Air India to increase its market share on international routes. It will be interesting to see how the move will benefit the airline in the coming days.
