Air India, India’s leading airline and a Star Alliance member, has resumed non-stop flights between Milan (MXP) and Delhi (DEL). Yesterday, the inaugural flight, AI138, departed Milan’s Malpensa Airport at 20:00 hours (local time) with 249 passengers on board, and is expected to land at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 08:00 hours (local time). The airline is now operating four times a week on the MXP-DEL route – Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The service is operated by the next-generation Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, with 18 Business Class and 238 Economy Class seats, providing leisure and business travelers with non-stop connectivity between Europe and India.
Mr. Andrea Tucci, Vice President of Aviation Business Development at Sea, welcomed Air India back to Malpensa, “The carrier is one of the world’s fastest-growing airlines and its decision to prioritize the re-introduction of the Milano Malpensa route further confirms the strong interest of the industry in the potential offered by our catchment area and the North of Italy as a destination. The return of the Air India direct flight to Delhi in Malpensa’s network contributes to enhancing connectivity to and from the Asian region market, which has been the most affected by the pandemic crisis.”
Air India’s new service is a great way to bridge the gap between Milan and Delhi, providing more options for travellers looking to explore both cities. With its modern aircraft and convenient flight timings, Air India’s non-stop flights between Milan and Delhi are sure to be a hit with travellers wanting to take advantage of this new route.
