Air India Revamps Inflight Menu for International Flights

Air India has announced the introduction of updated inflight food and beverage menus for all international flights departing from India. The move is in line with the airline’s commitment to enhancing customer experience by incorporating guest feedback. The company has created a varied selection of gourmet meals, appetizers, and desserts, showcasing the influence of locally sourced Indian cuisine while adhering to the healthy eating trend.

Air India has revamped its bar menu to include premium spirits and an extensive wine list, featuring top French and Italian wines. Sandeep Verma, Head of Inflight Services at Air India, expressed the airline’s desire to provide guests with a restaurant-like dining experience during their flights.

The company’s primary focus while developing the new menus has been to provide nutritious yet delicious options while incorporating contemporary and sustainable practices. Air India assembled a team of in-house experts, catering partners, and suppliers to design a superior dining experience on board their flights.

New Vegan inclusions:

Customers who follow a vegan lifestyle can now enjoy a variety of scrumptious plant-based meal choices such as Subz Seekh Kebab, Thai Red Curry with Tofu and Vegetables, Broccoli and Millet Steak, and Lemon Sevaiyan Upma, Medu Wada and Masala Uttapam.

New inspirations for main and light meals and desserts:

Air India, under the leadership of the Tata Group conglomerate, is introducing new menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that feature an eclectic mix of fusion dishes and classic offerings. The menus will be available across all classes and include delectable items such as Mushroom Scrambled Egg, Turmeric Chilli Omelette, Achari Paneer and Emmenthal Sandwich in Multigrain Bread, and Baked Fillet of Fish with a Herb Almond and Garlic Crust, among others. Additionally, guests can indulge in a range of dessert offerings such as Mango Passionfruit Delight, Quinoa Orange Kheer, and Espresso Almond Crumble Mousse Cake.

Bar Menu:

Air India’s bar menu will offer customers a fine selection of wines, including Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Brut champagne and wines from renowned vineyards such as Château de l’Hestrange, Les Oliviers, Chateau Milon, and the Piedmont region of Northern Italy. Customers can also enjoy premium whiskeys, gin, vodka, and beers.

The ideal pairing:

To complement the dining experience, Air India offers a selection of mocktails such as Virgin Mary, California Orange, and Apple Spritzer, as well as freshly brewed coffee and tea. The tea selection includes Assam, Green, Earl Grey, and Masala.

Air India’s renaissance is part of an ambitious plan to revitalize the airline, which was nationalized almost seven decades ago. The airline is committed to offering customers a fine dining experience that rivals the best in the industry.
