Air India travelers stranded at Chicago airport, awaiting updates on their flight to Delhi
For technical reasons, Air India canceled the flight to the national capital, marooning roughly 300 passengers at Chicago airport since Tuesday. Despite some passengers lodging complaints, there is still no clear indication of when they will be able to fly to Delhi.
At 13:30 local time on Tuesday, Gopal Krishan Solanki Radhaswami scheduled to depart from Chicago O’Hare International Airport and arrive in Delhi at 14:20 on March 15. However, as of Wednesday, passengers, including Radhaswami, had been waiting for approximately 24 hours, and the airline had yet to provide them with any answers regarding their delayed flight.
In a video message recorded from the Chicago airport, he expressed uncertainty, saying, “We are not entirely sure what’s happening, and we don’t have a definite timeline for our departure.”
Meanwhile, a fellow passenger phoned in and reported that they had been stranded at the airport for almost a full day and were unsure of when they could finally board their flight bound for Delhi.
Two individuals stated, “Approximately 300 Air India passengers, including foreigners, affect”. When reached for comment, an Air India representative confirmed that technical difficulties caused the cancellation of flight AI 126 on March 14th.
The spokesperson expressed deep regret for the inconvenience caused to the affected passengers in a statement and assured that they were making every possible effort to provide them with all-around support and arrange for their travel on alternate flights.
As of now, the situation remains uncertain, and passengers are anxiously waiting for any updates on their flight status. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
