Sources reported that the Air-India Express IX 385, with 182 passengers, experienced a tailstrike during its morning take-off from CIA. The plane then released fuel over the Arabian Sea to enable a safe landing at the airport, according to the sources who spoke to PTI.
The airport management declared a full emergency. The airport was put on high alert as all necessary safety measures were taken to a safe landing. Airport authorities also dispatched medical teams and ambulances to the airport to provide medical aid. And, assistance to the passengers and crew, if necessary.
The incident has caused disruption in the normal operations of the airport. All the flights to and from the airport have been delayed and the airport has warned travelers to expect delays. The cause of the hydraulic failure is yet to be determined. Air-India Express has launched an investigation into the incident, and the findings will be released once it is concluded.
