Boeing Establishes Global Support and Logistics Centre in India
On Monday, Boeing announced the launch of its Global Support Centre (GSC) in India. This GSC will provide customized operational efficiency and safety improvement projects for its airline customers, civil aviation regulatory authorities, and other industry stakeholders. Additionally, the aircraft maker is establishing a new logistics center in the country to expand its presence in India.
The GSC will invest in the establishment of a new logistics center that will provide customers with services and products. No further details on the investment have been revealed. Additionally, the center will support the aviation industry by holding technical workshops and projects that work towards increased aircraft reliability. Also, improved airplane performance, and the utilization of Airplane Health Management (AHM) systems.
Through these initiatives, the GSC will also improve operational procedures by providing assistance with structures and airworthiness. Maintenance Error Decision Aid (MEDA), Air Traffic Management (ATM), aerospace optimization, and low visibility operation with Head-Up Display (HUD), and Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS).
India is primed to become a global hub for aircraft maintenance, operations, and technology development, according to Boeing. The center is set to hold flight operations symposiums, and engineering seminars, and continue the development of new technology studies. The studies will have a considerable impact on airports and operators. With its large technical labor force, including highly trained technicians and industry capabilities, India can provide cost-effective maintenance services solutions.
Boeing Aircraft
Boeing operates more than 150 aircraft, including 737, 737 MAX, 757, 777, and 787 Dreamliner, with leading commercial airlines. To ensure local customers have the support they need Boeing. Boeing has also developed the India Repair Development and Sustainment (BIRDS) hub program. This creates an ecosystem of comprehensive support packages and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities, which are delivered through partnerships with local providers.

Currently, India operates a fleet of Boeing aircraft, including 11 C-17s, 22 AH-64 Apaches (with an additional 6 on order), 15 CH-47 Chinooks, 12 P-8Is, 3 VVIP aircraft, and 2 head-of-state aircraft. Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India, has asserted that India constantly experiencing tremendous growth in civil aviation. Boeing is also devoted to innovating and providing value to modernize the Indian aviation system.
In addition, Boeing has solidified its supply chain with more than 300 local organizations in India and formed a joint venture to construct fuselages for Apache airplanes and vertical fin structures for the 737 families of airplanes, and the company’s yearly purchases from the nation amount to approximately USD 1 billion.
