Cat 1Safety Ranking for India
As per the sources. DGCA has informed FAA(Federal Aviation Administration) that they have completed all the requirements to upgrade safety ranking of India back to category 1.
Last year, FAA downgraded the India’s safety ranking to category 2, due which none of the Indian carrier were able to launch new flights moreover they cannot have code chare program with any american carriers. As per FAA, due to untrained staff and shortage of FOI they downgraded the safety ranking of India. DGCA has recruited around 35 more FOI ,most of which are from Air Force.
