Close to 1,500 flights from Kochi weekly during summer: CIAL
Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has announced its summer schedule for this year, starting on March 26 and ending on October 28. Every week, the airline plans to operate around 1,500 flights as part of its schedule, which includes a total of 1,484 flight services. Of these flights, 31 airlines will be offering 332 weekly departures to international destinations, with 23 of these airlines being foreign carriers. CIAL shared this information in a recent press release.
According to the release, Indigo currently ranks first with 63 weekly departures to international destinations and has recently launched a new service from Kochi to Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE. Additionally, the airline plans to increase its domestic flights to Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

This is particularly important as Cochin airport is currently the third busiest airport in India in terms of international traffic.
As per the statement released, there will be a significant increase in Indian aviation, with a 17 percent growth in the domestic sector and an overall surge in volume. CIAL is taking proactive measures to accommodate this growth by devising suitable strategies and developing new route maps for the future. The goal is to establish Kochi as a major air traffic hub in South India,” stated the individual.
