DGCA initiates investigation after Pilot invites female friend into cockpit
Reports that an Air India pilot had entertained a female friend in the cockpit during a flight from Dubai to Delhi on February 27. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched a thorough investigation into the incident.

According to a senior DGCA official, an investigation team has been tasked with examining all relevant facts related to the incident. The pilot’s behavior is being scrutinized to determine if it violates any safety protocols or other regulations.
The DGCA’s swift response underscores its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all passengers, crew members, and aircraft. The investigation will shed light on what happened and enable appropriate action to be taken to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
An official stated that the act breaches safety norms established by the aviation regulator DGCA. Further details are currently awaited.
After experiencing a suspected windshield crack, a Delhi-bound Air India flight requested a priority landing at IGI on April 18. Nevertheless, the aircraft managed to land normally. The flight, which originated from Pune, had its pilot request a priority landing in Delhi after noticing the suspected wind crack.
SpiceJet’s Srinagar-bound flight was forced to return to Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport in Delhi on April 18 after a false warning. Also, “on April 18, SpiceJet’s B737 plane, which was operating flight SG-8373 (Delhi-Srinagar). Returned to Delhi when the AFT cargo fire light illuminated the cockpit,” the spokesperson said.
The flight captain took prompt action to put out the light, as reported by the SpiceJet representative.
The spokesperson stated, “During the landing process, the aircraft’s operational parameters were normal, and the passengers disembarked safely as usual.”
Furthermore, the spokesperson remarked, “When the AFT cargo was opened, there was no evidence of fire or smoke. After a preliminary evaluation, it was determined that the warning was unfounded.”
