Direct flight between Dimapur and Delhi takes off

Seamless connectivity between Nagaland and New Delhi became a reality on December 26 with the arrival of first direct flight to Dimapur Airport from New Delhi.

The Indigo 6E 2433 arriving from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) with 149 passengers on board was welcomed with traditional water cannon salutes by spraying arcs of water over the flight.

“Very good response to the newly introduced flight,” the Dimapur Airport Director Mughavi Zhimo informed The Morung Express.

The arrival flight had 149 passengers while 139 were on board the departing flight 6E 2434 from Dimapur, he added.

The ribbon cutting for the Dimapur-New Delhi flight was performed by first reporting passenger at Dimapur Airport.

Earlier, The Morung Express had reported that Nagaland’s sole airport in Dimapur is all set to get non-stop connectivity with the national capital, courtesy of Indigo Airlines, starting December 26.
