direct flight to Agra from Lucknow soon
Lucknow: Bringing the city of Nawabs closer to Taj city, a daily direct flight will soon begin between the two cities.
The journey will take around 100 minutes, depending on air traffic. One can take the morning flight to Agra and return the same evening.
According to Agra airport authority, airlines like Zoom Air (India) and IndiGo will operate between the two destinations.
IndiGo is expected to start a direct flight from March 28, and will operate a 74-seater ATR 72 model, the twin-engine turboprop plane.
The flight will depart at 9am from Lucknow and will take 1 hour 45 minutes to reach Agra. It will return to Lucknow at 4.10pm after a 1 hour 20 minute journey.
The return journey will cost around Rs 2,600.
Agra airport director AA Ansari said, “The two-way air journey will be much cheaper and faster than Agra-Lucknow expressway, which will be a win-win situation for tourists and airline operator.”
