Flights to Delhi from Air Mauritius to Resume on May 3rd
Air Mauritius has announced that it will resume its flight services to Delhi from May 3, 2023. The airline had discontinued these flights due to the pandemic. At present, Air Mauritius operates six weekly direct flights to Mumbai. The bi-weekly flight services to Delhi will be operated with a 254-seater Airbus A330 aircraft in a two-class configuration. It includes business and economy, according to a statement by Air Mauritius. The flight from Mauritius to Delhi will take approximately 7.30 hours.
KuEko, CEO of Air Mauritius, expressed excitement about resuming operations in Delhi after a three-year absence. He noted that India and Mauritius share a special relationship that is built on people-to-people ties. In April, Air Mauritius celebrated 50 years of its presence in India. KuEko added that Air Mauritius is exploring new avenues with Air India to offer seamless connectivity via Delhi and Mumbai to and from several destinations in India.
Arvind Bundhun, Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, described the long-awaited flight from Delhi to Mauritius as a major milestone. That will also boost demand and facilitate travelers from the northern part of India to commute. He predicted a steep rise in the number of visitors to Mauritius.
Furthermore, the resumption of the Delhi-Mauritius flight will provide a much-needed boost to the aviation and tourism industries, which have been severely affected by the pandemic. The connectivity between the two countries is expected to improve significantly with the resumption of the flight service. Overall, it will be a major relief for people who have been waiting to travel between Delhi and Mauritius.
