Bengaluru airport incident: Go First apologizes to passengers, offers 1 free ticket; DGCA issues notice

The Aviation regulator DGCA issued a show cause notice to Go First on Tuesday in response to the incident. This happens on Monday when 55 Delhi flight passengers were left behind at Bangalore Airport. Go First has since apologized and has de-rostered the staff involved in the incident pending an inquiry.

The incident occurred when the airline failed to reconcile the number of passengers with the number of boarding passes issued, leaving 55 passengers behind. The passengers were then forced to wait in a coach for approximately three hours until the airline could arrange for another aircraft to take them to Delhi. The incident has caused outrage among the passengers, who have criticized the airline for its lack of accountability.

The DGCA has now issued a show cause notice to Go First, citing “multiple mistakes” on the airline. He has asked the airline to explain why it should not be penalized for the incident. The DGCA has also asked the airline to provide details of the corrective measures taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. In response to the incident, Go First has issued an apology. Also, offered all affected passengers one free ticket for travel on any domestic sector in the next 12 months. The airline has also stated that the incident was due to an inadvertent oversight in the reconciliation process.

The incident is a stark reminder of the importance of safety and security measures in the aviation industry. The DGCA is expected to take strict action against the airline. If it is found to be in violation of any safety regulations. The incident also highlights the need for airlines to ensure that they are thoroughly prepared and equipped to handle large numbers of passengers.
