Ground Handling Organizational Setup
All Ground Handling Organizational setup follows a basic Hierarchy, in which the rank orders and decision making power increase from bottom to top subsequently. Which means that the rank and decision-making power keep increasing in Each Level. For Example, The Senior Manager has more decision making power and rank as compared to a supervisor, but lesser than the Vice President.
Hence, the Lower Rank Reports to the Immediate Upper Rank in most Cases.
The Board of Directors –are a group of Individuals who Supervise the Overall Activities of an Organization, They Set up the Vision and Mission of an Organization and Influence the Organizational Culture. They hold major shares in the Organization.
A chief executive officer (CEO)-
is the highest-ranking executive in a company, whose primary responsibilities include making major corporate decisions, managing the overall operations and resources of a company, acting as the main point of communication between the board of directors (the board) and corporate operations, and being the public face of the company. A CEO is elected by the board and its shareholders.
COO or Chief Operating Officer is the person is responsible for the day to day operations or an organization.
CFO – Chief Financial Officer –
This person manages the corporation’s financial risk. They deal with data analysis, financial planning and record keeping.
CMO – Chief Marketing Officer –
This person is the head of sales, product development and all things marketing-related.
CTO–Chief Technology Officer –
is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company.
Senior Vice President– is the highest Ranking Vice President, Directs the Activities of other Vice presidents and makes Strategic Decisions. Does not go to Meetings with other companies unless it holds a very big contract.
Deputy Vice President- Assumes the Role of the Senior Vice President in his absence and is mainly responsible to execute the SVPs Decisions.
Vice President – The vice president is in charge of the overall business, organization, agency, department. Usually all Subsidiaries have one Vice President.
Department Head– They Supervise and Control one or more exclusive departments according to their expertise. Hence, they make sure of the proper functioning of a Department.
Senior Managers- responsible for planning and directing the work of a group of individuals. They monitor their work and takes corrective actions when necessary. They oversee activities of particular departments. They are not available at all times during operations.
Duty Manager- TheyDirect, oversee, and manage daily operations for an organization and are available at all times during operations to ensure smooth functioning and safe operations.
Supervisor- They report to Duty Managers and Closely Observe all Operations in Details, They are responsible for daily reports, they instruct and assess base employees.
Executives/ Base Employees – As the Name suggests, they Execute the responsibilities every day, Catering Personnel, Ramp Personnel, Baggage Handling Employees, Etcetera are a few examples. Hence, they are present on spot and are responsible for the Functioning of all operations and Customer Satisfaction.
Departments under heads are :
HRM- Human Resources Management, handles of the Intake of New Employees, the welfare of current employees, training and other affairs related to the human factors.
IT– Information and technology, handle the technological aspects, like the machines, computers, software and connectivity methods being used by a GH Organization.
Finance and Accounting– Handles matters like planning, organizing, auditing, accounting for and controlling its company’s finances.
SAFETY– Overlooks Policies and regulations for the safe operations and welfare of the employees, properties, and environment.
Quality– Manages the quality aspect of the functions of the organizations, includes taking feedback from Customers about satisfaction and inspecting the quality of service by itself and making changes accordingly.
Operations- Handles the overall operations in all departments of the organization, responsible for operational planning and control.
Marketing– The Department is Responsible for promoting business and driving revenues of the Services offered by the GH Company, thus increasing the market share of the Company.
