Indian Airport Industry Projected to Generate $3.9 Billion in Revenue Next Fiscal Year
On Wednesday, aviation consultancy CAPA India projected a 26 percent increase in revenue to USD 3.9 billion for Indian airport operators in the upcoming financial year. The firm also offered an outlook for airports, predicting air passenger traffic to reach 395 million for 2023-24, covering both domestic and international flights. This would be a significant rise from the current fiscal year’s 275 million domestic and 58 million international passengers. CAPA India anticipates that domestic air passengers will rise to 320 million, while international passengers will reach 75 million.
Furthermore, CAPA India predicted that India’s domestic airport passenger numbers will grow to 700 million, and international airport passenger numbers will rise to 160 million by the fiscal year 2030.
During the CAPA India aviation summit, Stefano Barconi, Director General of ACI Asia Pacific, discussed the pandemic’s impact on airport health and the current state of air passenger traffic. With over 600 airports represented, the Airports Council International (ACI) Asia Pacific is an industry leader in the region.
