IndiGo Plane Passengers in Panic, After Air-Passenger Opens Emergency Door

The aviation industry is facing a significant safety challenge in light of the recent incident on an Indigo flight, in which an air passenger opened the emergency door and created panic. The incident took place on December 10, when the IndiGo 6E flight 6E-7339 was traveling from Chennai to Trivandrum. Fortunately, the situation was pacified after the authorities conducted a pressurization check.

The incident has prompted the aviation regulator, Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to launch an investigation into the matter and seek a report from the airline. In addition, DGCA has also asked the Head of operations of the airlines to sensitize pilots, cabin crew, and Director-in-flight Services of their respective airlines on the topic of handling unruly passengers through appropriate means.

It is important for airlines to take proactive steps toward ensuring the safety and security of passengers. This includes regular training of crew members to handle unruly behavior, developing systems to monitor these situations, and introducing necessary disciplinary action in the event of any untoward incident. Airlines should also take measures to prevent such incidents in the first place by educating passengers on safety procedures.
