In addition, Scindia emphasized that the government has formulated comprehensive expansion strategies for both airports and metros. During an exclusive interview with ANI, he stated, “Over the course of 65 years, India had a total of 74 airports. However, in the past 9 years, we have successfully constructed an additional 74 airports, heliports, and water aerodromes. Our objective is to double this figure to 148, and within the next 4 years, we aim to surpass 200. Through collaboration between the private and government sectors, we are dedicated to investing Rs 1 lakh crores in airport development.”

“We have developed an investment plan in collaboration with both the private and government sectors, with a substantial focus on the airport domain. The value of our plan alone in this sector amounts to approximately one lakh crore. Additionally, within the next four years, we aim to enhance the throughput capacity of our existing six metros from 22 crores per year to 42 crores per year. This expansion includes the development of Jewar and Navi Mumbai airports,” he added.

He also emphasized the increasing capacity of airlines in India.

“Our civil aviation sector boasts ambitious and determined plans, with airlines actively expanding their capacity. Air India has recently made significant aircraft orders, including 420 narrow-body planes and 50 wide-body planes, totaling 470. This expansion demonstrates India’s growing presence and influence in the global aviation arena,” he stated.

During a press conference held earlier today, Jyotiraditya Scindia commended the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government for successfully completing nine years in office. He emphasized that India’s image has undergone a transformative shift from “colonial” to “self-reliant” during this period.

Scindia proceeded to highlight the numerous accomplishments of the Modi government over the past nine years. He emphasized that their administration not only integrated marginalized and exploited sections of society into the mainstream but also empowered them.

Furthermore, he proudly announced that India currently holds the title of the fastest-growing economy globally, possesses the highest smartphone data consumption rate, ranks as the second-largest mobile manufacturer, boasts the highest global adoption rate of fintech, and hosts the third-largest start-up ecosystem in the world.
