Etihad Airways has resumed its services between Abu Dhabi and Kolkata, with a direct flight four days a week. The flight will depart from Abu Dhabi at 9 pm local time and arrive in Kolkata at 3.20 am. Etihad Airways will operate an Airbus A320 aircraft on the route, providing eight seats in business class and 150 in economy class.
On an inaugural day, Etihad Airways carried 152 passengers from Abu Dhabi to Kolkata and 126 passengers from Kolkata to Abu Dhabi. Etihad Airways will now fly to 14 destinations across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Maldives, following the resumption of services to Kolkata.
Etihad Airways had previously suspended its services between the cities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, with the recommencement of its services, it joins low-cost carrier Air Arabia, which also operates an Airbus A320 between the two cities three days a week.
There are two West Asian destinations that can be directly reached from Kolkata via flights: Dubai and Doha.
In addition to its new direct flight between the cities, Etihad Airways also recently announced that it will be launching new services to a number of other destinations around the world, including Moscow, Malaga, and Mykonos. These new routes are part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to expand its global network and provide its customers with greater choice and convenience when traveling.
