MRJ Aircraft of Mitsubishi
MRJ Aircraft of Mitsubishi :
One more Aircraft Manufacturer in pipeline. The MRJ (Mitsubishi Regional Jet) is the next generation regional jet which will offer both top-class operational economy and outstanding cabin comfort for the passengers. MRJ will be a strong competition to E2 Jet of Embraer.
MRJ has a game-changing engine, very good aerodynamic design, & noise analysis technology, the MRJ will significantly cut fuel consumption, noise & emissions of CO2.
The MRJ will have a four-abreast seat configuration, with large overhead bins, and also feature a slim seat that offers heightened comfort to passengers. It will have Lower Fuel Burn, Noise & Emissions .
Passenger traffic is expected to be about 3-4 times higher after 15-20 years. The Demand for 70 to 90-seat class aircraft over the next 20 years will be over 5,000 units due to the market trend of “up-sizing” from 50-seat RJs and route-transfers from mainline jets to large RJs in consequence of high fuel price and low passenger yield.
The MRJ family consists of the MRJ90 (90 seat class) and the MRJ70 (70 seat class).
These MRJ aircraft have common wings, empennage, engines, and systems. In addition, they have commonalities in pilot type rating, maintenance program, and spare parts which is a benefit over other aircraft.
The Japanese aircraft manufacturer showcased aircraft 10001 infront of 500 guests comprising of government officials, suppliers, customers and journalists at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ Komaki South plant in Nagoya on 18 October. Mitsubishi Aircraft also hosted a live webcast of the ceremony on its website.
The MRJ will be powered by the new PurePower (R) PW1200G engines designed by Pratt & Whitney. The engines of MRJ which will deliver significant operating cost and environmental benefits through increased efficiency. This will definitely give a good competition to E2 Jet and Canadian Regional Jet.
The engine’s low-pressure system operates at high speeds for peak efficiency, while the fan operates at slower speeds for both optimum efficiency and significantly less noise. Better efficiency means fewer engine stages are required, reducing airfoil count, engine weight and operating cost.
The MRJ will be utilizing the Fly-By-Wire technology. The flight deck will be equipped with 4 large Liquid Crystal Displays(LCDs) (15 inch diagonal) to enhance situation awareness.
