Regional Airline in Uttar Pradesh
Regional Airline of Uttar Pradesh is going to be launched by October end. It will be based out of Varanasi ( Uttar Pradesh ).
This Inter State airline of Uttar Pradesh will be connecting Jhansi, Agra,Varanasi, Gorakhpur,Kanpur ,Bareilly, Meerut, Lucknow, Allahabad and other tourist spots.
This initiative will encourage the air connectivity in the country. Om Prakash Singh is the tourism Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He expects the services are likely to start by October end.Regional airline should be encouraged across the country.
UP State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. is the nodal department for the initiative . It will be responsible for all the carrying out all the work related to aviation in the state.
Uttar Pradesh has the largest number of tourist destinations that are religious, cultural, historical and full of natural beauty the state attracts a large number of tourists.Regional airline is the need of state.
Uttar Pradesh has got very high significance for Buddhist religion also. For the Buddhists all over the world, four places are of great religious significance :
• Lumbini/Kapilwastu – the place where Lord Buddha was born,
• Bodh Gaya – the place where he attained enlightenment,
• Sarnath- the place where he preached his first sermon,
• Kushinagar- the place where he spend maximum period of his life and attained Maharparinivana etc.
•Sravasti – Lord Buddha spent 27 rainy seasons here;
•Kapilvastu – believed to be the place where Lord Buddha spent his childhood;
•Sarnath – the Site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon;
•Kaushambi – a pillar from the Ashoka era exists here;
•Sankisa – believed to be the place Lord Buddha revisited after his death
All these places, associated with life and teachings of Lord Buddha, together as a group, are referred to by the tour operators, as “Buddhist circuit” across the world.Regional Airline will enhance the connectivity.

IL&FS Infrastructure Development Company Limited is the project consultant for this massive project. The further consultants are :
a) M/s India Aviation Consulting & Support are the Aviation consultants for preparation of Technical Feasibility Report and Master Plan for the proposed Airport;
b) M/s SENES India Pvt. Ltd are the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) experts responsible for facilitating IL&FS IDC undertaking EIA studies and EIA clearance.
The total project cost is estimated 350 Crores. We will expect more regional airline in the country. This will enhance the jobs opportunities for pilots,engineers,ground staff and other aviation people in the country.
Such air connections are the need of the hour !! In fact such mini-aviation companies are essential to upgrade the industrial-tourism scenario connecting stations more than three road hours away, especially in Western India…
