Delay at Mumbai Airport costs over Rs 1 crore daily. According to the sources, ATC officials are handling around 70 flights in two hours between 9:30-11:30 pm, which is much more than DGCA prescribed limits. In the first thirty minutes ,generally there is a delay between 15-20 minutes.After that it increases to more than 50 minutes holding in the sky of Mumbai. This holding time costs around Rs 1 crore for two hours. Narrow body aircraft like A 320 & B 737 consume roughly around 1.5 tonne per hour whereas B 747 and other Jumbo jets consume more than 3 tonne per hour. Presently ATF in Mumbai costs Rs 58,620 per kilolitre.
