‘Space Taxi’ will be built by Boeing and SpaceX

Space Taxi : Space taxi will be a space shuttle for carrying astronauts and other passengers from Earth to International Space Station. Space Taxi will be launched in 2017.

Space taxi will carry 7 passengers or astronauts to International Space Station.The CST-100 spacecraft of NASA will at first be used to take astronauts to International Space Station. However, Boeing also pictured the future where it is used to transport astronauts and space travelling passengers to private spacecraft such as Bigelow Aerospace’s inflatable habitats, which will be launched in the future.

The two Commercial Crew Transportation Capability (CCtCap) contracts are being designed in order to complete the NASA certification for human space transportation systems which will be capable of carrying people into orbit.

Boeing will be $4.2 Billion for developing the Space Taxi. This space taxi will actually replace the existing space shuttle.Boeing’s design would be launched into space using the Atlas 5 rocket built by the United Launch Alliance, which is a joint venture of Boeing and Lockheed Martin Corp.

Boeing and partner Bigelow Aerospace highlighted the future commercial interior of the capsule it is developing for Nasa, while Bigelow showcased a full-scale model of its BA 330 inflatable space habitat that astronauts which could have one day live in capability.

They are under the process of developing a manned version of the Dragon spacecraft which can shuttle seven astronauts into orbit.

The testing is already underway, The Dream Chaser Space Shuttle is expected to undertake its first mission into space for the first time in 2017 on an Atlas V rocket.

There will be a event on Space-X4 on September 18th 2014. The name of this mission is “Launch America”-Commercial Crew Transportation. SpaceX will receive $2.6 Billion from NASA for developing Space Taxi.
