SpiceJet Office Panic: Unraveling the Hoax Bomb Call in Gurugram
A bomb threat call on Thursday evening threw the SpiceJet office in Udyog Vihar, Gurugram, into a panic. The local police were immediately alerted about the call, which claimed that a bomb had been planted in the office and was set to explode imminently.
Responding swiftly to the alarming situation, a team comprising officers from the Udyog Vihar police station, along with the bomb disposal squad and dog squad, rushed to the scene to conduct a thorough search. For nearly two intense hours, the authorities scoured every corner of the premises in a bid to ensure the safety of the employees and visitors.
Fortunately, the authorities conducted an exhaustive search within the SpiceJet office and did not discover any suspicious objects or explosive devices. The police confirmed that it was indeed a hoax call, originating from an unidentified person who intended to spread fear and panic among the occupants of the building.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Udyog Vihar police station promptly registered a First Information Report (FIR) in response to the official complaint lodged by a concerned employee. SHO Anil Kumar of the Udyog Vihar police station stated, “We conducted an extensive two-hour search operation on the premises and found no bomb.” We registered an FIR on Thursday night based on the complaint filed by a company official.
