Using cutting-edge robotics and automation technology, TASL will produce the doors at a new facility in Hyderabad. Each ship set will include two cargo doors and one bulk cargo door. The contract also was signed by representatives of Airbus and TASL on Wednesday.

Remi Maillard, president and managing director of Airbus India and South Asia, said that this contract demonstrates the company’s commitment to ‘Make-in-India’ for a self-reliant India. He added that Airbus is delighted to have TASL, a trusted and capable partner. It also supports the ramp-up of their A320neo family aircraft.

Sukaran Singh, managing director, and chief executive officer of Tata Advanced Systems Ltd, said that winning this contract will further strengthen their partnership in aerospace manufacturing in India. He also mentioned their ongoing relationship with Airbus based on trust and operational excellence.

More than 100 Indian suppliers provide components and services worth USD 735 million annually to Airbus. Indian-made critical technologies and systems are integral to every Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopter.

Airbus is partnering with TASL in Gujarat to establish the Final Assembly Line (FAL) for the C295 military aircraft. Therefore, this initiative is expected to generate cutting-edge design, aircraft assembly, component manufacturing, and service capabilities throughout the value chain.

Airbus and its supply chain together support almost 10,000 jobs in India, a number that could rise to 15,000 by 2025. According to Airbus, the C295 military aircraft program alone will create 25,000 direct and indirect jobs over the next decade.
