Technical Snag Causes Unexpected Air India Express Flight Return
An Air India Express flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Muscat, Oman was forced to return shortly after take-off due to a technical snag in its onboard computer system. Flight IX 549 had taken off from the state capital of Kerala at 8.30 am and returned to the international airport at 9.17 am after the pilot noticed the glitch. Thankfully, all 105 passengers and the cabin crew were safe.
Air India Express has made arrangements to fly the affected passengers to their destination in another aircraft which is expected to take off at 1 pm. The airline spokesperson has assured us that all passengers are being taken care of during this time.
This is not the first time an airline has been forced to return due to a technical snag. Technology is embedded in all aspects of air travel, from the booking systems to the aircraft itself. This is why it is important for airlines to ensure that their aircraft are properly maintained and serviced on a regular basis and that the latest software updates are installed.
