Vistara Announces Mumbai-London Direct Flights Starting June 1

On Friday, Vistara, the full-service carrier jointly owned by Tata group and Singapore Airlines, announced that it would commence direct flight services between Mumbai and London Heathrow from June 1. Vistara issued a statement stating that it would service the new route five times a week using a Dreamliner Boeing 787-9 aircraft that will offer passengers three class configurations, namely business, premium economy, and economy.

The Tata Group presently owns Air India, which the airline is merging with. Vistara has stated its intention to gradually increase its widebody fleet in the future as it seeks to expand further into the European market.

Vinod Kannan, CEO of Vistara, commented that “Mumbai-London will be our fourth route to Europe after connecting Frankfurt, Paris, and London with Delhi. This additional gateway also offers our customers more options and flexibility with their travel itineraries. We look forward to further expanding our presence in Europe, especially with more wide-body aircraft joining our fleet in the coming months.”

The airline has opened bookings for the new flights progressively through various channels, including its website, mobile app, and travel agents.

Vistara plans to offer its passengers a premium experience on the Mumbai-London route, and the airline is known for its exceptional service and attention to detail. The Dreamliner cabin features lie-flat seats in business class, a premium economy cabin, and a spacious economy class cabin. Passengers will also have access to in-flight entertainment and Wi-Fi on board.

The Mumbai-London route is the first of several long-haul international routes that Vistara plans to launch in the coming years. The airline has been steadily expanding its route network since it began operations in 2015, and the addition of long-haul routes is a significant step towards establishing itself as a global airline.
