Air India to follow Indigo’s foot steps
The new Civil Aviation Minister of India Mr Gajapati Raju is working hard for the revival of Indian Aviation and Air India specially. The ministry of civil aviation has issued instructions to Air India for grounding aged air hostess and improving on time performance.
Currently on an average the turn around time of Indigo is 25 minutes whereas Air India Clocks minimum 45 minutes. Air India needs to increase the efficiency of cabin crew . The airline needs to replace the aged cabin crews with younger ones for brining more efficiency.
The total load factor of Air India for the month of July was 69.6 whereas Spicejet topped the chart with total load factor of 79.4 Spicejet has even pushed market leader Indigo to number two.
After the instruction for grounding aged cabin crew, lot of new vacancies will be created for freshers.Initially all the cabin crew above the age of 45 will be grounded. However Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju wish the age to be lowered further to 35 years.
All these changes are must for the airline and hopefully it will impact the airline in a very good way. Air India has lowered the losses in last fiscal. Presently Air India has aired the tender for getting eight more aircraft. This will increase the capacity of Air India by 4% in winter. Haj is also approaching and Air India is fully prepared for the Haj Operations.
In the past month, Air India has lodged 2.4 complaints per 10,000 passengers. This is the highest complaint registered across airline network in India. Lowest was of Air Costa with just 0.3 complaints.
