Hiring of 100 pilots in Air India
The national carrier Air India will be hiring around 100 pilots for 27 new B-787. The new aircrafts has already been added in the fleet. According to them, out of 100 pilots they will absorb 40 waitlisted pilots which were kept on hold for more than a year.
According to a spokemen ,they will send the pilots of B-777 for getting trained on B-787. They will need 7 sets of commanders and co-pilots and even more for their fleet.
Air India has given 27 Boeing 787 on order and the deliveries will start in 2011. This lot will increase the fleet to 115 aircraft by 2014. Air India has grounded the jumbos, the 747s and has till date added 40 new Airbus family aircraft. It has also inducted 18 737-8 — for its low cost subsidiary Air India Express and 17 of the Boeing 777s — the wide body aircraft for the long-haul routes.
